(Confirmed) Chief Executive Officer, Gatehouse Bank
David Testa is currently CEO of Gatehouse Bank plc. Gatehouse received its licence to operate as a
Shariah-compliant investment bank based in the City of London from the Financial Services Authority
in April 2008. Gatehouse will focus on Islamic capital markets, institutional wealth management and
Shariah advisory services. Gatehouse is a subsidiary of The Securities House, one of the leading
investment companies in Kuwait.
Prior to joining Gatehouse, David led the Islamic finance team at WestLB and most recently closed
the £225m Shariah-compliant UK leveraged buy-out of Aston Martin from Ford, as well as the
benchmark US$1.1bn syndicated financing for Arcapita Bank (Bahrain) and the US$600m Sukuk al
Ijara issue for Dar Al Arkan Real Estate Development Company (Saudi Arabia).
Prior to joining WestLB David was a solicitor in London and Tokyo with Slaughter and May and
Ashurst Morris Crisp.
David holds an MA in Modern History from Oxford University.
