Dr Abdulgader Amir assumes office since April 2007 as the Vice mayor for Urban Planning for the Municipality of Jeddah. Dr Amir worked as the chief planner in the municipality of Jeddah from August 2005 until April 2007. Dr Amir taught at King Fahd university of Petroleum and minerals at Dhahran, Saudi Arabia for over 10 years where he headed two major departments; the city planning department and the Architecture department. Professional Objectives: Teaching, research and Practice of Architecture, Urban Design, and planning Research Interests: Social, spatial, cognitive, and Environmental Issues in the development of the urban environment.
