Chief Investment Officer, CIMB - Principal Islamic Asset Management Sdn Bhd
Dr. Zeid Ayer is the Chief Investment Officer of CIMB-Principal Islamic Asset Management Sdn Bhd. A specialist in various fixed income instruments, he was previously the Senior Portfolio Manager and Global Head of asset-backed and mortgage-backed credit with Principal Global Investors (PGI).
He co-managed six total-return, short-duration multi-sector portfolios with total assets of approximately $1.4bn. His responsibilities included overall portfolio construction, asset allocation, duration positioning, portfolio monitoring and risk management and security selection for all Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) and Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS).
Until 2006, Dr. Ayer was the sole analyst responsible for making buy/sell recommendations and underwriting offerings of all home-equity loan (HEL) ABS, all Adjustable-Rate Mortgages, non-Agency MBS and structured Agency MBS.
Prior to this, he was the Assistant Vice President (Computational Risk Modeling Analyst) with PNC Financial Services Group from 1996 to 2001.
Dr. Ayer is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder. He obtained his PhD in Physics from the University of Notre Dame, USA and M.S in Computational Finance from Carnegie Mellon University, USA.Your browser may not support display of this image.
