Partner, Theisen-Schiltz
Marc Theisen was born in Luxembourg on 5 November, 1954. He studied law at the Cours Universitaires de Luxembourg and the Université Libre de Bruxelles. He has been a practising lawyer in Luxembourg since 1981 and founded the Theisen, Schiltz & Barbian law firm with Pierrot Schiltz. For international customers he deals with the establishment of enterprises and companies, their siting and any administrative work, such as the procedure to obtain from the competent authority authorisations to take up domicile. He establishes legal structures and ensures that developers and promoters have the most appropriate one for them. He helps customers to discover the advantages of the Luxembourg financial centre, for example, Islamic finance. For national customers, he has specialised in property law, especially in construction and urban planning, and PPPs. He has attended many conferences(Brussels, Paris, Riyadh) in these fields and has had work published.
Maître Marc Theisen has in recent years attended several conferences on economics and finance organised by the Luxembourg government, (Middle East and Gulf Region). In this field he works close to several Luxemburg as Saudi-Arabian Banks. He is a member of the Arab-Belgian-Luxemburg chamber of commerce, as ALFI ( Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry), and the working group "Islamic Finance".
