Partner, Nasirs
Former chairman and trustee of the Incorporated Trustees of the Islamic Community Fund of Hong Kong, and on the board of other Muslim organizations in London and Hong Kong. He is a council member of the Law Society of Hong Kong, Chairman of the Law Society Guidance (ethics) Committee and a co-opted member of the Equal Opportunities Commission in Hong Kong.
He is a solicitor admitted in England and Wales and Hong Kong SAR, registered at the DIFC, Dubai, UAE and the founding partner of Nasirs. Mediator (HKIAC & CEDR). His areas of practice include dispute resolution, commercial and banking. He has advised on matters on Islamic finance, Shariah compliant trade, banking, property development, trusts and investments in capital markets. He has been involved in setting up and advising on kardan hasana schemes in London and Hong Kong since 1984. He has also been involved in large scale Shariah compliant projects and property development.
He lectures on Islamic finance, risk management, civil litigation, ethics and accounts. He contributes to the Hong Kong Civil Procedure and is co-general editor of ‘Professional Conduct and Risk Management in Hong Kong’ Thompson. 2007.
